Gottstein Trust Capacity Building Grants
06 April 2022
The 2022 round of the Gottstein Trust flagship
grants program opened this week and applications are encouraged.
“Many companies in the industry are loyal regular
donors into the Gottstein Trust Fund. This is the latest opportunity for their staff,
as well as anyone across the supply chain, to apply for a capacity building
grant from the Trust,’ said chair Suzette Weeding.
The grants are awarded to individuals and are
open to all industry personnel and to students in a relevant field of study who
aspire to a career in the forest products sector.
There are three types of grants. The
categories are the Skill Development Support grant which has no set pre-requisites
and is open to anyone who wants to build their skills and is working at any
level; the Scholarship which is for TAFE and University students and the
prestigious Gottstein Fellowship which generally supports early to mid-career
individuals to undertake a special project that can be demonstrated to be of benefit
to the industry.
“The Trust has a great track record of awarding
grants that open up new opportunities for people to gain knowledge and use it
for the good of the industry,” said Ms Weeding.
Former award recipients invariably praise the
support they received from Gottstein award grant. “Certainly some people tell
us that the impacts from the Gottstein Trust funding were life and career
changing.”
