The Steve Stevenson Memorial Trust sponsors students

The Gottstein Trust welcomed a new initiative with The Steve Stevenson Memorial Trust Fund (SSMT) in late 2019. This great opportunity is for university students. The SSMT provides a fully funded place for one university student to participate in the annual Gottstein Trust course.

The opportunity to have this sponsored student place is rotated to a different university each year. Over time this means that students from all over Australia will have opportunities to apply.

The 2022 course includes three student places generously sponsored by the SSMT fund. The students are from the Australian National University, Southern Cross University in Lismore and University of the Sunshine Coast.  The Gottstein Trust team liaises with each university to make this opportunity known to their students. A short application process is conducted with the selection of each student awarded a sponsored place in the Gottstein Course being carried out by the Steve Stevenson Memorial Trust Fund.

Forestry Australia sponsors young professionals and students

The Gottstein Trust is delighted to welcome this initiative of Forestry Australia that offers two scholarships for Forestry Australia members to participate in the Gottstein Understanding Wood Science Course in April 2022 in Canberra/Albury.  This is supported through the Future Foresters Initiative (FFI) which expressly assists students and early-career professionals/ researchers.

Midway sponsored student

The generosity of Midway Limited has enabled one recent ANU masters’ forestry graduate to receive sponsorship of a fully funded place in the 2022 Gottstein Understanding Wood Science Course.

Our team looks forward to welcoming all these young people and is excited to collaborate with the sponsoring organisations to encourage bright, up-and-coming people associated with our ultimate renewable timber industry.
