Annual Industry Donor Appeal Underway

08 December 2025

The annual Gottstein Trust industry funding appeal is underway. Chair Suzette Weeding has written thanking the many leading firms that support the annual appeal, inviting a donation before the end of this year that will support 2026 activities.

She pointed to a successful year of activities in 2025.  As always, new Fellowships, scholarships and skill development grants were made and six young engineers were sponsored to attend the World Conference on Timber Engineering.

“We reached a tally of 175 people doing a Gottstein course in the last six years, with high satisfaction ratings from both seasoned and newer industry entrants, and University students.”

“This appeal continues to be the main source of annual operations funding, and we sincerely appreciate strong donor support.”

Donors receive discounts on course fees and their company logos are displayed on course programs and the website. “We’re so thankful that donors are already renewing their support.”

Enquiries are warmly welcomed from companies and individuals who’d like to consider becoming a new donor.

“Activities are still 100% funded industry funded as we approach the 55th year of operation. There’s an iron-clad link that benefit for industry is front of mind when we select candidates to receive the range of capacity building grants each year”.

* The Gottstein Trust is a unique national educational trust fund of the forest products industry. It was founded in 1971 by industry leaders, honouring the late Bill Gottstein . The driving force was industry leader, Denis Cullity. His West Australian family remains prominent today – as co-founders and owners of Wesbeam, with James Malone (a Gottstein Trustee).
