Career boosting grants - 2025 applications are open

02 September 2025

It's time to consider applying for a 2025 Gottstein Trust award grant.

"Time and again we witness how a Gottstein capacity building grant makes a genuine difference for someone - whether it's from adding to their skillset or through studying in more depth something relevant to their career and aspirations. Plus valuable intangible impacts are evident, "For example a person may come in contact with a new professional network that exposes them to different or new perspectives. The many positive impacts are long lasting,” Ms Weeding said.
For 2023 recipient Lee Stamm (pictured) the release of his project report in September 2025 is the final step after a  significant and enlightening round of visits and meetings with experts in Germany, USA and Canada during the fellowship study tour. Another recipient Harry Mills said, “The experience of the 2019 Gottstein Fellowship was incredible and has been immensely helpful for me. I encourage anyone with an idea to develop a proposal and apply.”

Three categories are open to receive applications until midnight Monday 27th October and these must be lodged online. Chair of The Gottstein Trust, Suzette Weeding called upon people and culture/human resource teams, business owners, executives and operations managers everywhere to make the most of these capacity building opportunities. "Please ensure that personnel in your organisation are aware of these wonderful offerings and encourage them to apply."

The award grants now open are the skills development grants, the scholarships and the prestigious fellowships.

Skills Development Grants - for people who work at any level in the sector. Types of eligible activities include, but are not limited to, conference fees, field trip attendance, a short course, travel to learn about a certain skill or for example something machine operation.

TheGottstein Scholarships - for people pursuing a vocational qualification at TAFE or at University (under-graduate or post-graduate) level. Scholarship funds may be used for course related or general living expenses at the discretion of the scholarship recipient.

Gottstein Fellowships - these prestigious grant awards are keenly contested. A fellowship recipient receives funds to pursue a specific type of project they’ve identified as having potential benefit for the sector, which they've developed and seek to pursue. Most entail international travel, and project outcomes are made available for industry via a project report from each Gottstein Fellows which can be downloaded free of charge.
