Dr Rod Kavanagh was the recipient of a 2007 Gottstein Fellowship.

This award provided an opportunity to investigate current developments in biodiversity monitoring in northern Europe and also to obtain an international perspective about the prospects for using species-based assessments as indicators of ecologically-sustainable forest management in Australia.
