Quarantine touches every member of the Australian community either directly or
indirectly. The forest industry, as a member of that community, is also affected in a
number of ways. Quarantine is a vital element in the protection of the forest estate in
its broadest sense. This report looks at the use of pheromone traps for forest
protection through improved methods of detection, monitoring and control of exotic
insect pest incursions.
