Accommodation 2019 Forest Science Course

The Course runs for 5 days.

8.30am Monday 18thFeb. to the afternoon of Friday 22ndFebruary 2019.

Rooms have been held for participants at University House, The Australian National University (ANU).

The rooms are held until Friday 25thJanuary– after which they will be subject to availability.

The Course is held during a Parliamentary Sitting Week and Canberra can be booked out, so we strongly recommend you secure your accommodation early.

University House is a tranquil 1950’s accommodation complex that’s hosted prominent visitors to the University for decades. It is an older 3.5 star facility, but for those without 5 star expectations it is a comfortable, pleasant and convenient place to stay. The Course dinner will be held at University House and there’s a good café open all day next door.

Convenience

Participants are of course free to stay wherever they prefer. We recommend University House because of the convenient location.

The Course will be held at ANU’s Fenner Schoolwhich is about a 10 minute walk through the campus. The Field Trip bus will pick up and drop offat University House – it will not pick up from other hotels. Canberra’s city centre is about a 15 minute walk away for recreation and exploring outside the Course. A cinema, bars and restaurants are about a 5 minute walk away at New Acton and the shoreline of Lake Burley Griffin, only minutes away, is a lovely place to visit.
